History

Club Penguin actually had a preceding game, Penguin Chat, also known as Experimental Penguins. It was made by Lance Priebe, owner of Rocketsnail Games.

In March 2005 Lance Priebe and a few others set out to create a safe virtual world for kids. Beta started in late Summer 2005 and ended in October 2005. They officially launched the game on October 24, 2005. In September 2005 they had a beta party for a few hours.

Club Penguin basically relied on word of mouth. They quickly grew. In 2007 they were bought by Disney.

There are rumors that Disney ruined Club Penguin – this is a false claim. All Disney does it fund the game teenagers and kids have come to love and play often. Did you know they have more than 30 million users?

    I joined CP at Halloween last year and EVERY PERSON that commented has a point Disney had RUINED the Club penguin they think they have make perfect but REALLY NO!! im not a member and Ive always wanted to be a member. i wish this will be on tv now!! if im older i would go to the makers of cp and Disney and tell them to put THE OLD CLUB PENGUIN BACK!!! and every one who is not a member should be a member cause is there a point of having a member ship? if i was the manager of it i will definitely make EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU a member!!

    ummm ive been on old CP im very old!!!
    things have actulay got better since dsney look at the dojo! there was none then and the mine and upstairs nightclub that was totaly fifferent u guys should be happy of disney to buy it. and say ”I” for 5 years and older penguins! “I”

    i no some of u r saying disney ruined cp wen acturely they saved cp from going bust and i miss old cp but without disney there wouldnt be a cp to play anymore so look at it like i do
