May 2012 Funny Picture Contest and Coin Code Giveaway

Posted by 9John Cena on May 4, 2012 under Uncategoried | 5 Comments »

Update: We have decided to cancel this contest, as we did not receive many submissions. We will instead be giving out this coin code at our next party in June, as previously mentioned. Huge thanks to those who did participate.

The Cub Penguin CC team has decided to have a contest! This contest is very simple. This contest is based on creativity and imagination. What you need to do to participate is to create and send us your best funny picture. Please make sure what you submit is entirely your work. You may not submit funny pictures you have submitted anywhere else.

Here are some things that the judges will be looking for:

  • Creativity – Some thought should be put into it. We do not want a plain picture of a penguin on the Ice Berg making a lame joke about tipping the Ice Berg.
  • Humor – It has to be funny, of course! Feel free to make references to things in the real world, and feel free to reference memes.
  • Professionalism – Make sure it’s professional and not messy.
As part of the funny pictures contest, we have a free coin code to give out to the one with the ‘funniest’ picture, courtesy of our author 9John Cena. As for the coin code, the various Cheats Whiz admins and 9John Cena will vote and decide on the funniest picture. The creator of the funniest picture will receive a free coin code! However, if we do not receive enough good submissions, we may either have a vote on this blog, or give it away at our next party.

Important things about the submission:

You grant Cheats Whiz the right to use your submission on their site, and you grant them full ownership and control over your submission. If you are under 13, please have your parent or guardian’s permission to join. If you have any questions about the terms and conditions of this contest, please contact the below email address for more information.

Submitting

Once you have made your funny picture, please send it to tech163@cheatswhiz.com with subject ‘CP Funny Picture Submission – Tech163’, where Tech163 should be replaced by your penguin name. Please include the following:

  • The funny picture itself – Please save the image as a JPG or PNG file, and resize it so it doesn’t take up any more than half of your screen. It is essential that the file size of the image is no more than 500KB.
  • Description – At most 3 sentences explaining the humor behind your funny picture, and why it is funny.
  • Please include the files as ATTACHMENTS, and not links to remotely hosted images.

Club Penguin Introduces Translation System Soon

Posted by jermaine10 on May 2, 2012 under Uncategoried | 1 Comment »

This Afternoon I decided to read ‘The Telegraph’ and I noticed that there was an article about Club Penguin. Club Penguin will release a new translation system. This means British children and teenagers will able to talk to other players online in Spanish, French, Portuguese and German even if they don’t know a single word of these languages! Here’s what The Telegraph had to say.

British children will soon be able to chat online in Spanish, French, Portuguese and German without knowing a word of any of these languages, as part of an upgrade to Disney’s Club Penguin website.

A new chat system to Club Penguin, which allows children aged five and over to play and chat together online using penguin avatars, will automatically translate pre-selected phrases between the languages used on the site.

The chat system currently contains 300,000 phrases but an update, due later this year, will extend that number to more than six billion. The next update will automatically translate those phrases between the site’s languages.

The result is that children with different native languages will be able to talk without even realising they speak different languages.

Lane Merrifield, Club Penguin’s co-founder, said the team wondered “what would it be like to create a world where language barriers disappear?”. The site has several computational linguists and translators working to develop the translation system, which should be available next year.

One of the ways that Disney keeps the site safe for children is to pre-select the phrases they are allowed to use in conversation. That prevents children using inappropriate language or revealing personal information. As a result, the service has a database of phrases which can be matched to their equivalents in other languages.

This is great! British children can now talk to penguins that don’t speak English through Club Penguin. To be honest I believe this is one of the best updates Club Penguin has made Do you agree? Make sure to comment below and let us know!

Tips for finding Rookie on your own – There are a few things to keep in mind when looking for him on your own. Below, we have outlined some of the useful things to know while tracking the mascots:

  • Track the popular servers – Mascots will always appear on the popular servers at some point in time. These popular servers include Mammoth, Abominable, Blizzard, Frozen, Sleet, among many others. One common strategy is to wait in the town of the server until the mascot appears. While this often works, it is very time consuming. If you do not have as much time, we recommend you refresh our tracker once every few minutes for the latest location.
  • Check the popular rooms – mascots often go to rooms such as the Dock, Town, Plaza, Beach, and the Ice Berg. They may occasionally appear in other rooms as well, although it is less likely. Rookie will mainly be in the dimension rooms.
  • Look for abnormal server population – If a server that is typically 1 bar suddenly has 5 bars, it is likely that the mascot is currently on that server. Log into that server and check the popular rooms.
  • Form a search party – They always say two heads are better than one. What if you have even more than two heads? It’s often a good idea to form search parties where everyone looks through a certain set of servers, and share the location with each other once they see a mascot. We have provided a chat, so everyone can form search parties easily!
  • Check during peak hours – The mascots tend to appear more on weekends, and during times when there is a large number of penguins playing Club Penguin. During the weekdays, this time is typically from 1PM PST until 10PM PST.
  • Join our tracker chat – People in our chat are working together to find the Puffle, so joining our chat may help lead you to the mascot’s location!

Do you have any other tips for tracking the mascots? If you do, leave a comment and let us know! Until then, happy tracking!

Cheats Whiz Club Penguin 2012 Spring Party

Posted by Tech163 on March 25, 2012 under Uncategoried | 33 Comments »

It’s been quite a while since we last had a party for Cheats Whiz Club Penguin, so we have decided to hold a part the first day of April! Here is the party invitation. Keep in mind April 1 is SUNDAY, as March has 31 days.

As stated in the invitation, the party will begin at 12:00 PM Snow Fort Time. Keep in mind that when Daylights Savings Time is active in the United States, the time at the Snow Fort will be one hour ahead of the Penguin Standard Time found on the Community Page. That means according to the Snow Forts time, the party is at 12:00 PM (noon), but 11:00 AM according to the time on the community page.

As usual, we understand many penguins will have difficulty figuring out the time of the party in their local time. As stated in the invitation, simply comment with your city and state (note that your comment will be published) and we will try to figure out the local time for you. We also ask that you check the previous comments in the event someone else has inquired aout the time for your location.

In addition, the majority of the Cheats Whiz Club Penguin staff and administrators will be attending this party, so it will be a GREAT opportunity to meet many of them, perhaps for the first time.
