Club Penguin has released some all new membership popups when trying to buy something such as a Puffle or clothes when a nonmember! For example, if you are a nonmember and try to purchase a Brown Puffle, you will get this popup:
Club Penguin has updated their homepage for the Marvel Super Hero Takeover! It starts on June 14th. It looks awesome!

Like usual Club Penguin is accepting name submissions of penguins who you think have a cool igloo.
While it may not have necessarily happened to your penguin, throughout the course of the Medieval Party there have been reports of some nonmember penguins who are able to defeat Scorn the Dragon King even though the battle is for member penguins. It was thought of as a bug, but my friend Dhi228 from Club Penguin Factz emailed Club Penguin Support and got this interesting response from the team. Take a special look at the bolded part:

We are always looking for ways to keep making improvements to Club Penguin. This is one of the many reasons your feedback is important to us.
We’ve heard that free players would like to do more at parties on the island. This is why we’ve decided to do a test at this year’s Medieval Party to see if we can offer all players more during special events.
A small group of free players has been randomly selected to participate in this test. They will be able to do Scorn’s Quest at the Medieval Party. Please know that this test is only happening during the Medieval Party for the time being.
I understand that this may be frustrating for you, but I can assure you that there are lots of other fun things to do at the Medieval Party that don’t require a paid membership.
If you have any feedback about this test and what you’d like to do at future parties, please let us know. Although we can’t guarantee anything, we will definitely pass along your suggestions!

Club Penguin is testing letting nonmembers do more at future parties! Isn’t that nice of them? They do indeed listen to feedback and complaints on not being able to do enough as a nonmember.
